Rowan Regional offers Safe Sitter class

SALISBURY – With summer just around the corner, Rowan Regional Medical Center wants to be sure your babysitter is prepared for any emergency that might occur.  Rowan Regional will offer Safe Sitter classes on Wednesday, June 27, and on Thursday, Aug. 2.  Both classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Rowan Regional Medical Center Maternity Center classroom. 
Safe Sitter is a medically accurate, hands-on, class that teaches boys and girls ages 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for children.  Participants in Rowan Regional’s Safe Sitters class will learn:
What to do if a child chokes
Safety for the sitter
How to call for emergency help
Babysitting business skills
Basic child care skills (diapering, feeding, etc.)
How to entertain children and keep them safe
The non-refundable registration fee for the course is $30.  This fee includes the student materials used in the course instruction.
