20-year-old charged with statutory rape

SPENCER — Salisbury Police charged a 20-year-old Spencer man Sunday with felony statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Allen James Scrip, of Grant Street in Spencer, was arrested by Officer Timothy J. Crews around noon on Sunday.
According to the arrest warrant, the incident happened May 1.
Scrip remained in jail Monday under a $50,000 bond.
