CHARLOTTE (AP) — Police in Charlotte have arrested man in connection with a theft ring they say took more than a million dollars in goods from local stores and tried to resell them on Craigslist.
The Charlotte Observer reports that authorities identified Daniel V. Reyes as a ring member. He’s charged with four counts of possession of stolen property.
Reyes is in Mecklenburg jail under an $85,000 bond, but jail officials have also put an immigration hold on him because they believe he is in the country illegally. It wasn’t known if Reyes has an attorney.
Police said the suspects took everything from musical instruments to hunting and outdoor equipment and stored it in a Kannapolis warehouse.
Warrants are out for two other men believed to be involved in the case.
