Report: 16-year-old released after high-speed motorcycle chase

SALISBURY — A 16-year-old was released into the custody of his mother after leading Salisbury Police on a motorcycle chase and traveling more than 100 mph.
Jeffery Dolton Whitaker, of 4378 St. Peters Church Road, was arrested by officer Karl Boehm about 5 a.m., according to an arrest report.
Whitaker was charged with driving after consuming as a provisional licensee, felony fleeing to elude arrest, no operator’s license and no motorcycle license.
He was arrested in the 3800 block of Faith Road. The 2004 Honda sports bike was impounded.
Whitaker was released into the custody of his mother, Michelle Schmidt.
