Salisbury woman faces cocaine charges

SALISBURY — A Salisbury woman was placed behind bars after being accused of possessing cocaine.
The Salisbury Police Department charged Joyce Anne Murphy, 38, of 1200 W. Fisher St. Apt. 1A, with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon Saturday.
According to an arrest warrant, a Salisbury police officer found Murphy in possession of cocaine, two glass smoking pipes and a pair of brass knuckles. The amount of cocaine found was not specified.
She was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

LANDIS — The Landis Police Department charged two men with felony possession of cocaine Saturday.
Rodney Lee Smith, 21, of 160 Cromer Road, Salisbury, and Tommy Lee Hinson, 19, of 285 Providence St., China Grove, are also facing possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
According to arrest warrants, Smith was found with a smoking pipe and Hinson had a syringe.
Both men were booked into the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
