SALISBURY — A man accused of breaking into a friend’s home while he was in jail faces additional charges.
Kelly Dean Foy, 44, of 2190 Mt. Hope Church Road, is charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering between Dec. 18 and Jan. 5 in Cleveland. He is accused of stealing $10,000 in gold and silver coins from a storage facility on Gatton Road.
Foy was originally jailed Jan. 6 after he was charged with breaking into his friend Travis Stiller’s home while Stiller was in jail pending two driving while impaired charges. Foy is accused of stealing a rifle, RCA television and more than $10,000 from the residence.
Stiller alerted police after neighbors told him they saw a red S-10 Chevrolet truck at his 184 Geiger Lane home.
Inside the home detectives found two pill bottles, one with the name Kelly Foy, an open tube of Fixodent, a pill crusher and various clothes around the home that did not belong to Stiller.
Stiller told officers that Foy, who wears dentures, was a friend of his, but didn’t have permission to be inside the home.
Foy is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $71,500 bond. Charges include breaking and entering, larceny and obtaining property by false pretenses.
He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
