From staff reports
West Rowanís Scott Young was one of the football coaches honored by the Carolina Panthers during an on-field presentation at the Panthersí home game with Tampa Bay on Saturday.
The Panthers recognize a high school coach of the week in North or South Carolina throughout the football season, and they all are automatically finalists for Coach of the Year honors.
When Young was a weekly winner, the Panthers donated $1,000 to Westís athletic department.
Fayetteville Jack Brittís Richard Bailey was named Coach of the Year, and Britt received an additional award of $2,000 on Saturday.
