Armed man robs West Innes business

Authorities are looking for a man they say robbed a clerk in a West Innes Street store.
The man is described as wearing a yellow safety vest over a black hooded shirt, black jeans and black shoes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black ski mask when the robbery occurred at the We Buy Gold store across from Wells Fargo at Grove and West Innes streets.
At first, reports indicated the man ran out of the store and through City Memorial Park cemetery at the corner of Grove and Innes. A recent report indicated he ran behind the business to Ackert Avenue.
Several hundred dollars was taken from the business, police said. Authorities said they will know the amount taken after the manager audits the store.
Police said the robber walked into the business holding a black, semiautomatic handgun and pointed it at the clerk, demanding money. Officers said the armed robbery call came in at 11:12 a.m.
Detectives spoke to several witnesses outside of the business just moments after the robber disappeared. A canine unit tracked a trail on Ackert Avenue but officers said no one was found.
