A Salisbury man and woman were arrested Sunday after the woman “came after him with a butcher knife and and a hammer,” according to police.
Salisbury Police arrived at 304 Foster Lane at about 10 p.m. after getting a call about an assault in progress, the report said.
Authorities said 41-year-old Frankie Blackwelder was standing with a neighbor in the yard. The report said he had cuts to his arms and face.
That’s when Blackwelder told police that his girlfriend, Tonya Harrison, attacked him, the report said.
Police arrested Harrison, 35, and charged her with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
She was in jail on Monday under no bond.
After speaking with police, Blackwelder was charged with failure to appear in court.
He was given a $500 bond.
