The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man in a number of car break-ins in the Bostian Heights area.
Ricky Wayne Carroll, 28, has been linked to more than 20 car break-ins, and the investigations continue.
The Sheriff’s Office began investigating numerous car break-ins in the southern area of Rowan County. The majority of these crimes were in the Bostian Heights area, with cars being entered late at night, and items stolen from inside.
One of the vehicles involved was an Iredell County Sheriff’s Department patrol car. Rowan County Detectives were able to develop Carroll as a suspect in early November.
On Nov. 16, Rowan County detectives located Carroll hiding at a residence on West 22nd Street, Kannapolis. Property including iPods and laptop computers have been recovered linking Carroll to several of the car break-ins. Carroll has been charged with these crimes, and is in the Rowan County Detention Center under an $80,000 secured bond.
Investigators believe Carroll is responsible for many more crimes, and are in contact with investigators from other jurisdictions where Carroll has been known to visit.
Anybody with information about this investigation is asked to contact Lt. Chad Moose or Det. Carl Dangerfield at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
