SALISBURY — A fight at a Salisbury bowling alley escalated Sunday morning when a man struck another man in the head with his wife’s oxygen tank.
According to Salisbury Police, 44-year-old Charles Edward Hauer of Mahaffey Drive was charged with assault inflicting serious injury to Christopher Howell in the parking lot of Woodleaf Lanes.
Officers said an argument started between the two inside the bowling alley and spilled into the parking lot at about 2:30 a.m.
As the trash talking continuing, Hauer, who police said was carrying his wife’s oxygen tank, hit Howell in the head with the blunt object.
Hauer was released after posting a $500 bond.
Howell, 26, was treated at the scene for injuries.
