Salisbury man accused of kidnapping, rape

A Salisbury man was jailed on Friday after authorities charged him with kidnapping, rape, second-degree sex offense and assault by strangulation.
According to arrest warrants, 27-year-old Daniel Michael Benge, 165 Hunter St., Salisbury, was arrested near the femaleís home at about 12:40 p.m.
The victimís age was not given in the warrants and few details were available Friday afternoon, but the report said Benge is accused of ěrape and sodomy, choking until the victim blacked out.î
A bond was not set for Benge and will not be issued until his first court appearance.
