SALISBURY ó A Kannapolis man is accused of stealing metal plates worth $3,000.
James Michael Dorton, 40, of 1908 W. A St. in Kannapolis, is charged with felony larceny. Authorities say he took the plates on Sept. 10.
Dorton is scheduled to appear in court Monday. He was released from the Rowan County Detention Center after posting $1,000 bond.
