SALISBURY — Officers arrived at Walmart on Wednesday and arrested a cashier accused of stealing cash.
According to a police report, Walmart Loss Prevention officers called the authorities after they witnessed one of the cashiers, identified as Stephanie Michelle Hicks, taking money from the register.
Hicks, 25, is accused of taking $100 bills and hiding them along with the store’s coupons.
After a while, Hicks would remove the cash from the coupon bag and put it into her pocket. A total of $400 was taken, the report said, and authorities believe it happened over several weeks.
Hicks, of 1050 Middle Drive, Faith, has been charged with four counts of felony embezzlement.
She was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
