MT. ULLA — A Mooresville man was charged on Tuesday after deputies say he stole jewelry and collectibles from his mother and grandfather.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, 19-year-old Brandon Shawn Terry stole jewelry from his mother, Mendee Williams, at her Warren Drive home in Mt. Ulla. Terry is also accused of taking two sets of collectible coins from his grandfather’s house.
The report said Terry took wedding bands, necklaces and other assorted rings from his mother’s jewelry box.
Williams and her father, Gurney Ball, filed a report for the missing items on Oct. 17. Terry was arrested just one day later after deputies tracked the stolen goods to Reliable Pawn Shop in Salisbury and Aisle Pawn Shop in Mooresville, the report said. The report said Terry’s signature was on documents submitted to the pawn shops at the time of sale.
Terry, 1540 Oak Breeze Drive, Mooresville, was charged with two counts of felony larceny, felony obtaining property by false pretense and felony breaking and entering.
He was given a $25,000 bond and was in jail Wednesday.
