A Mooresville woman was arrested Sunday morning after police say she assaulted a law enforcement officer at a party.
According to a Salisbury Police report, Candace Mechelle Wilson, 27, left a party at the Hudson-Miller-Tatum VFW Post 3006 building at 1200 Brenner Ave. at about 1:30 a.m., yelling obscenities and attempting to start a fight.
An officer on the scene told the woman to calm down, the report said, but Wilson attempted to go back into the party.
The report said the officer tried to stop the woman from going back into the building when Wilson turned around and pushed the officer.
Wilson, 163 Cross Railroad, Mooresville, was immediately arrested and charged with misdemeanor assaulting a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
She was released after posting an $800 bond.
