Organ recital at Pfeiffer

On Sunday at 7 p.m., Adam Micah Ward, director of music ministries for Providence United Methodist Church, Charlotte, and dean of the Charlotte chapter of the American Guild of Organists, will perform a free organ recital in Henry Pfeiffer Chapel on Pfeifferís Misenheimer campus, 48380 U.S. Hwy. 52.
Ward, who oversees 11 choirs, both vocal and handbell for Providence UMC, will perform Concerto II in B-flat Major by George Frederic Handel, Fantasy and Fugue in G minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, and Carillon de Westminster by Louis Vierne.
Prior to his appointment to Providence UMC, Ward served as organist and choirmaster for First United Methodist Church in Salisbury, for more than ten years. During that time, he also directed the Concert Choir Inc., of Salisbury. A frequent performer across the Southeast, Wardís performance resume includes a concert at St. Phillipís Cathedral, Atlanta.
