A Concord woman was arrested at a Food Lion on Monday after authorities say she altered her driver’s license and attempted to forge checks.
According to Salisbury Police, Aileen Nicole Drake, of 318 Harold Goodman Circle, Concord, was charged with three felonies when officers arrived at the store after receiving reports of fraud.
The clerk told officers that the check wasn’t passing in the system and that a closer inspection showed that the ID had been altered. According to the report, the check was in the name of Subvieno Cleaning and Restoration and was for $298.81.
Another woman was with Drake while she tried to pass the forged check, the report said, but left at about the same time officers arrived.
Authorities searched Drake before arresting her and found a set of drug scales, the report said.
Drake, 27, was charged with felony forgery of notes, checks or warrants, felony uttering a forged instrument, felony obtaining property by false pretenses and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was given a $15,000 bond and was in jail Tuesday afternoon.
Salisbury Police are still investigating.
