Man charged with drunken driving with baby in car
A Lexington man is behind bars after driving drunk with his 11-month-old daughter in the vehicle.
Salisbury Police arrested Fredix Mendoza Vallejo, 29, of 908 Virginia Drive, on charges of driving while impaired and misdemeanor child abuse Saturday.
According to the police report, Vallejo was involved in a vehicle crash on Main Street shortly after 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
The report states Vallejo had a “strong odor of alcohol,” “slurred speech,” “difficulty walking” and “memory loss.”
He was in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.
