Two men were hospitalized after reportedly being stabbed at a China Grove party late Saturday night.
According to a China Grove Police Department press release, Kleiber Ivan Madriz, 23, and Cody Benjamin Woolf, 20, were taken to nearby hospitals by private vehicles after a party at 2285 W. U.S. Hwy. 152 “turned violent.”
The party spilled into the roadway and was in the process of being stopped when officers arrived, the report said. After speaking with the home owners, police believe the party got out of hand after an exchange of words.
Madriz and Woolf were stabbed in the residence and in the yard, according to the report.
The report said Madriz is being treated for multiple stab wounds at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He’s listed in critical condition.
Woolf, a China Grove resident, was also treated for multiple stab wounds and released.
Police believe drugs and alcohol were factors in the incident.
China Grove Police, Landis Police and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit responded to the incident.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 704-857-7755.
