15-year-olds charged in Kannapolis shooting

Two 15-year-olds were arrested in connection with a deadly shooting Tuesday night in Kannapolis.
According to a Kannapolis Police press release, one of the two male juveniles was charged with the murder of Jason Michael Sides. Sides was shot and killed at 2099 Central Drive near Wright Road at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on his way home from E-Z Stop Convenience Store in Kannapolis.
Police said the two 15-year-olds were involved in other separate offenses in Kannapolis. Their names were not released due to their age.
The first suspect has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of felony breaking and entering and three counts of felony larceny.
The second suspect was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering and two counts of felony larceny.
Kannapolis Police said they are still investigating and information regarding the shooting is limited.
