A Salisbury man was arrested after police say he was caught breaking into a pickup by the truck’s owner early Friday morning.
A Salisbury Police report said Matthew Derby found Jesse Poole, 170 Myrtle Goodnight Road, breaking into his white Dodge 1500 pickup truck at about 1 a.m. Friday morning.
The report said Derby and his brother left Monterey Mexican Restaurant, 2094 Statesville Blvd., after eating Friday morning when they found Poole crawling through the truck’s rear window.
Derby, of 6270 U.S. Hwy 601, and his brother pulled the 22-year-old from the window, according to the report, and Salisbury Police found Poole lying in the truck’s bed with Derby standing over him when they arrived minutes later.
The report said Poole appeared to be impaired. The only damage to the vehicle was the rear window.
Poole was charged with felony vehicle breaking and entering and was given a $2,500 bond.
