Have you ever hit your breaking point? Life can be very difficult, balancing work, family and all the other stresses daily life will bring you.
It is impossible to eliminate stress. Actually, trying to get rid of it will stress you out. Studies have shown how stress will affect your health in many negative ways.
Of course, exercise is an outstanding way to help you deal with stress and it is one of my greatest weapons to relieve my daily challenges.
However, even I had my breaking point a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I resorted in an old “anger management” technique of mine.
I ended up breaking one bone in my left hand. The reason I am actually writing about this is that I know I am not alone. Granted, not everyone ends up breaking a bone in their hand but many will let things eat on them so long that eventually their health is at stake, friendships, even family and work relationships.
Life is just too short to carry that kind of stress with you. I am one who will communicate quite easily about anything (good or bad) I have been taught by my parents to be respectful in any kind of situation.
It has worked very well for me but I didn’t realize how much “stuff” was building up. I feel great now and Dr. Ginn and the staff at Rowan [0x12]Regional Medical Center did an outstanding job and I am very pleased we have such a great hospital with excellent staff right here in Salisbury.
If you feel the way I did, don’t let it linger. Take charge.
Try to figure out what is making you feel the way you do. Is it fixable? Do you need help to “fix” it? You might not even know you are stressed to the max… I sure had no clue.
I did a “review” of these past couple of months and have figured out what my steps will be so this will not happen again. Taking time for yourself, having quality time with your family, exercise, eating healthy, balancing work are great “weapons” that will assist you to not hit that “breaking point.”
