A Salisbury man was arrested Saturday afternoon after deputies say he threatened a neighbor with a shotgun.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, Jeffery Davis Jr., 3990 Statesville Blvd. Lot 6, pointed a 20-gauge shotgun at Victor Johnson after a dispute over fireworks at about noon Saturday.
Johnson told authorities that Davis pointed the gun at him and said he would kill him “if he ever threatened his girlfriend.”
When authorities questioned Davis about the incident, the report said he did so “in order to defend the honor of his girlfriend.”
Deputies seized the weapon and arrested Davis, charging him with assault by pointing a gun. He was given a $500 bond.
