Police: Teen punches police officer
A 16-year-old was charged Saturday morning after police say he punched an officer in the face and fled on foot.
According to a Salisbury Police report, authorities responded to a large gathering near WalMart on East Innes Street.
As Officer Colvin attempted to disperse the crowd, the crowd became hostile, encircling the officer.
The group shouted obcenities at the officer and Anfernee Adams reportedly came from the officer’s side punching him in the face.
Adams, 1911 S. Jake Alexander Blvd., then fled the scene but was caught and arrested by Colvin shortly after.
Adams was charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing and misdemeanor assault of a law enforcement offficer.
He was given a $2,500 secured bond.
