Woman charged with attempted murder

A Salisbury woman is behind bars for the attempted murder of her husband.
The Salisbury Police Department responded to shots- fired calls at the 200 block of Clay Street about 11 a.m. Thursday.
Capt. Shelia Lingle said when officers arrived, witnesses on the scene said Latisha Shiree Barber, 29, of 1018 S. Church St., had been shooting.
Officers found her husband, Wolfman Jones Barber, 30, walking down the street.
Witnesses told police Latisha Barber had been chasing Wolfman Barber toward East Horah Street, yelling something about him sleeping with a white woman.
Wolfman Barber said his wife shot at him three times. After the first shot, he took off down the street. He was not injured.
Latisha Barber did not have a gun in her possession when police arrived on scene. She had given it to Renell Jeffery Parson, 19, of 911 N. Church St., to hold.
Police have arrested and charged Latisha Barber with attempted murder. She is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Parson has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon. He was released on a written promise to appear in court July 27.
The investigation is continuing and more charges could be filed.
