Armed man robs Internet cafe

The Salisbury Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at an Internet cafe early this morning.
Deputy Chief Steve Whitney said a man entered D&D Net, 519 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., Suite F., about 12:20 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a knife.
The 22-year-old clerk was placed in a headlock and forced to the back of the business where cash is stored.
The man fled on foot with two canvas bank bags filled with money.
The clerk was not injured in the incident.
Whitley said seven patrons witnessed the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark jeans with a white shirt wrapped around his head with eye holes cut out.
Whitley said police are using surveillance footage to further identify the man.
The investigation is ongoing.
