West Rowanís soccer team finished its season at 17-3 after a 4-1 loss to defending state champ Marvin Ridge in the second round of the 3A playoffs on Friday.
The Falconsí only score came on a Toni Lucente shot that eluded a host of Marvin Ridge defenders with 12:35 remaining in the contest.
Falcon keeper Allison Bailey was solid in the goal making eight saves.
ěOur team fought the whole game tonight. They never let up even when we were down,î stated West coach Nick Brown after the match. ěWe have had a very successful season. We have counted on some young players this year and they have played well. There is a solid nucleus to build on for next year.î
Because of lightning, the game was called with six minutes remaining.
