SALISBURY — Detectives with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating a fraud that possibly started at Morgan Elementary School between April 26 and May 5.
Authorities said the secretary at Morgan Elementary was going over the school’s account and noticed four checks were out of place, all which were used at Walgreen’s and Home Depot. The checks totaled around $4,000.
Morgan Elementary said no one there made any purchases with the checks, which are with F&M Bank, and detectives are working on getting video from Walgreen’s and Home Depot to determine who may have passed the checks.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700.
