SALISBURY — A Lexington man was arrested on drug possession and trafficking charges Wednesday night after Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies say they found pills in his car.
The officers stopped Travis Wayne Bost, 22, of 300 John Snider Road in Lexington, around 10 p.m. at a checkpoint at Deal Road and Enochville Avenue near Mooresville. He was traveling west in a green Chevrolet Cavalier.
According to the report from the Rowan County Sheriff’s office, Bost appeared to be impaired. They asked if he had anything in the vehicle he shouldn’t have, and Bost responded that he didn’t.
The officers said they detected an odor of marijuana. Bost reportedly told them he had smoked some earlier but there wasn’t any in his car.
Deputies began to check the vehicle, and according to the report, Bost then admitted he had some pills in the backseat. Deputies found 4.5 grams of hydrocodone and four doses of methadone.
Bost was arrested and charged Wednesday with felony trafficking of hydrocodone and simple possession of methadone. He was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and given a $10,000 secured bond.
