Kannapolis man charged with property damage
KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis man was arrested Sunday after causing property damage of $1,000 on Deal Road while attempting to elude police.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has charged Christopher Lynn James, 23, of 1040 Westchester Drive, with felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle and driving while impaired.
According to an arrest warrant, James was driving in excess of 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.
He was given a breathalyzer test, which indicted his blood alcohol content was .09 at the time of the arrest the warrant said.
James was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center. He was released Sunday after posting a $4,500 bail.
