Man recovering from stabbing

SALISBURY ó A Salisbury man is in stable condition at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after he was stabbed and robbed around 10:15 Tuesday night while vacuuming out his car at Lancasterís Car Wash on South Main Street.
According to police, Matthew Morris, 20, and a juvenile, were vacuuming the car when a blue minivan with a white male driver and five black males with dreadlocks pulled up next to them.
Police said one of the men punched Morris in the face, and as Morris was in a seated position in his car, others stabbed him in the stomach with an 8-inch knife and robbed him.
Morris was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center and then transported to Presbyterian.
According to the N.C. Department of Corrections, Morris is a convicted felon and has served time in prison for possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
The case has been turned over to investigators.
