Police: No charges for driver that hit woman

SALISBURY – A woman that was hit by a car last night while crossing Jake Alexander Boulevard has been released from Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Ebony Aesha Craig, 34, of Salisbury, was treated for a broken jaw and released this morning.
A Salisbury Police report said Craig was crossing Jake Alexander Boulevard near Rose Lane around 9:12 p.m. when she was hit by a car driven by Roland Morris. Morris told police Craig was wearing dark clothing, and he did not see her.
A witness told EMS workers Craig was flung into the air and landed on her face. Rowan EMS responders indicated the woman was conscious and alert but had leg and shoulder pain.
Police said that Morris will not be charged in the incident.
