Salisbury Police are investigating a Thursday morning home invasion where an unknown man entered through a window and assaulted the homeowner.
According to a police report, a woman who lives on Brenner Avenue was awakened from her sleep after hearing glass break at the back of her home around 2 a.m.
She told police she grabbed a liquor bottle and headed out of her room, heard movement, and saw someone near her back door.
The suspect came at her and she swung at him with the bottle, hitting his face or hitting the wall, the report said. Because no lights were on, the woman didn’t know what the man looked like and didn’t know if she hit him or the wall.
Police said the man then swung at the woman, hitting her in the face, and left by the back door of her home. The man did not take anything from the home.
If anyone has any information on this incident they are urged to contact the Salisbury Police Department, 704-638-5333.
