SPENCER – Spencer Police officers responded to an alarm at Lancaster’s Car Wash, 931 S. Main Street, early this morning to find three men – one white male and three black males – breaking into a coin machine.
The three men took off on foot, and officers were able to catch up with one of them – 16-year-old Jacob Andrew Kaiser, of 390 Imperial Drive.
Kaiser was charged with felony breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools and breaking or forcing open a coin-operated machine. He is in the Rowan County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
Lancaster’s reported $600 in coins were stolen from a coin machine between Jan. 1 and Jan. 5.
The investigation continues, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Spencer Police Department, 704-633-3574, or, Salisbury-Rowan Crimestoppers, 1-866-925-JAIL (5245).
In July Kaiser was charged with four felony counts of breaking and entering and larceny for allegedly breaking into mobile homes in Oakland Meadows Mobile Home Park, 1170 Majolica Road.
