Police are looking for Timothy McCain, Jr., 22, of the streets of Salisbury, wanted for the early morning home invasion at 225 Dan St., where a man was shot and hospitalized.
At 4 p.m. today, the Salisbury Police Department was finalizing warrants for McCain’s arrest, including charges of first-degree burglary, attempted armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Lt. Shelia Lingle said witnesses and the victims were able to identify McCain as the suspect, and said physical evidence led police to McCain as well.
Lingle wouldn’t say what was found in the home, but “He’ll know what it is,” she said about the evidence McCain left behind.
Salisbury Police responded about 5:30 this morning to the home of Jeffery Summers and his sister, Margi Summers. Police say a man came through the back door and tried to rob them. Jeffery and Margi Summers fought back.
Police said the suspect then severely bit Jeffery Summers in the shoulder, taking out a chunk of flesh, and also bit Margi Summers on the wrist. The suspect shot Jeffery Summers twice, in the upper leg and hip area, and fled.
Jeffery Summers remains in the hospital, and his sister is home recuperating.
Margi Summers declined to be interviewed by a Salisbury Post reporter, but did show a bandaged right wrist, and was still shaken up over the incident.
Jeffery Summers, who is at Rowan Regional Medical Center, said he was doing “OK,” and said he hadn’t had any surgeries as of 11 a.m.
