Shooting victim in fair condition

The condition of a Salisbury teenager shot multiple times Monday has improved.
Anthony Brian Smyre, 17, of Proctor Drive, is reported to be in fair condition in Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, according to Salisbury Police.
Smyre was shot in the neck and torso while walking with two other people on Old Plank Road around 4:15 p.m. Monday in what police have described as a gang-related incident.
Jerome Van Collins Jr., 23, was arrested Tuesday at his mother’s home on South Ellis Street.
Collins is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $500,000 bond.
