A Cleveland couple has been charged with selling more than $3,500 worth of cocaine to undercover agents over a two-month span.
Kinedrick Jerome Watkins, 29, and Crystal Schenk Watkins, 38, both of 1979 Mountain Road, Cleveland, are charged with multiple felonious drug charges.
Kinedrick Watkins is being held in the Rowan County Jail under $200,000 bond. His wife, Crystal, is being held under a $100,000 bond.
Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said the couple was arrested Tuesday. Over a two-month period, they allegedly sold 71.5 grams of cocaine to undercover officers.
The value of cocaine is estimated at $50 per gram.
The sales occurred at various spots over the county, including a garage on Woodleaf Barber Road on Oct. 19; the Kmart parking lot in Salisbury on Nov. 9; the Lowe’s parking lot on Faith Road on Nov. 16; and the McDonald’s parking lot on East Innes Street on Tuesday.
Immediately after selling cocaine to the officer at McDonald’s, Kinedrick Watkins was arrested in the bathroom at the business.
Investigators then went to their home and arrested Crystal Watkins.
Kinedrick Watkins was charged with the following offenses: three counts of possession with intent to sell cocaine; one count of sell, deliver cocaine; two counts of trafficking cocaine by possession; two counts of trafficking cocaine by transportation; two counts of trafficking cocaine by sale; one count of conspiring to traffic cocaine; one count of maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Crystal Watkins was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell cocaine; one count of sale, deliver cocaine; one count of trafficking cocaine by possession; one count of trafficking cocaine by transportation; one count of trafficking cocaine by sale; one count of conspiring to traffick cocaine; one count of maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
