Patrons’ Party celebrates sponsors of annual tour

Historic Salisbury Foundation will host the annual Patrons Party to recognize the sponsors of the 33rd Annual OctoberTour on Thursday.
This year’s sponsors are Bank of North Carolina, Ben Mynatt Nissan, Caniche, Cheerwine, Cloninger Ford, First Bank, Fisher Companies, F&M Bank, Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Hill, National Starch, Packaging Corporation of America, Rowan Regional Medical Center, Wachovia and Wentworth Interior Designs.
The party theme will be Fall for OctoberTour with a Southern Fare with Flair menu.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour and dinner will be served around 7:30 p.m.
Entertainment will also be provided. Past attendees should look for their invitations in the mail.
Tour weekend
The tour will begin on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. and will run until Sunday, Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
This year there are eight historic homes on tour, including Graystone, two urban lofts at The Flowers Bakery Building, The Tiernan-Dorsett House, The E.A. Goodman House, The McCubbins-Rouser House, The J.W. Zimmerman House and The Josephus Hall House.
Other attractions
Adding to the ambience of the home tour will be antique automobiles on display at various tour locations, the 100th year celebration at the Historic Salisbury Station, a Living History Encampment, musicians, artists and much, much more.
During the tour you can relax at the “Pause on the Porch” location for refreshments or at the “Sidewalk CafĂ©” on Bank Street. Here you will be able to enjoy refreshments from several Salisbury restaurants, coffee houses and caterers. Trolley Rides will also be free during the tour weekend for anyone with an OctoberTour ticket.
Tickets
Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 on tour day; Historic Salisbury Foundation members and groups of 10 or more are $13 anytime; children ages 6-12 are $10 at any time.
