LANDIS ó A China Grove motorcyclist was injured Wednesday evening after being hit by a car on N.C. 153.
According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, Matthew Allen Harrington, 38, of 265 Providence St., was pulling his 1972 Honda motorcycle out of the parking lot of Sandy Ridge Service Station, going north on N.C. 153, when he was struck by Tammy Farrington Tutterow, 33, of 1041 Shawnee Trail, China Grove.
Trooper W.D. Greene said Tutterow was on Cannon Farm Road crossing over to Mount Moriah Church Road and hit Harrington.
The incident happened around 3 p.m.
Tutterow was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
Harrington was charged with not having an operator’s license, insurance or inspection sticker and driving with an expired tag.
Apparently, the motorcycle had been parked for a number of years, Greene said.
Harrington was taken to NorthEast Medical Center in Concord with hip injuries.
“He suffered possibly a fractured or broken hip,” Greene said.
A Thursday phone call to NorthEast confirmed that Harrington had been released.
