ROCKWELL ó Young and old had a good time at Rockwellís annual Saturday in the Park, and they did it for a good cause.
The annual event is a collaboration of the Rockwell Community Association, Rockwell Lions Club and Rockwell Civitans Club and proceeds benefit Nazareth Childrenís Home.
Entertainment included Uncle Georgeís Magic Show, Southern Gospel music by Terri Beaver and One Love and music from the movies by the Piedmont Primetime Community Band.
Children ages 4 to 12 competed in a tractor pull ó on pedal-powered tractors. Youngsters also tried to throw a ball through a ětoothî and received frisbees for their participation, courtesy of Oak Ridge Dental. The YMCA provided a bounce house for even more fun.
The Rockwell Fire Department gave adults free blood-pressure screenings.
And everyone enjoyed cotton candy, Cheerwine, Hapís hot dogs and Civitans ice cream, along with prizes donated by Johnnyís, Romanoís, Snippers Produce Market and ACE Hardware, all of Rockwell.
