Robbery averted

Quick action by a store clerk averted a robbery Sunday night.
The night clerk at Stop & Go, 530 W. Cemetery St., had closed around 10:30 p.m. As he was locking he door, he noticed a man walking toward the business, carrying a shotgun.
The clerk quickly retreated inside the store, locked the door and called police.
The would-be robber had fled the scene by the time Salisbury Police officers arrived.
No description of the suspect was available.
