Police investigate fish and goat poisoning

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible poisoning of fish and a goat.
Margaret West, of Jackson Road, reported that someone may have put some type of poison in a pond on her property between Sept. 24 and Sept. 28.
West reported that around 100 fish have died and a goat is sick from drinking out of the pond.
In other reports of incidents or arrests on Sept. 28:
– Jeffrey Andrew Beacham, of Charlotte, reported he lost his cell phone on a golf course on Sept. 3 and apparently it had been found and used by a teenager.
– Lonnie S. Hamby, 200 Old Rocky Road, Rockwell, reported someone drove by his residence and shot his two dogs. Capt. John Sifford said a small gold-colored car drove by the residence and several shots were fired. Hamby came out and found his two dogs shot.
In other reports of incidents or arrests on Sept. 27:
– Billy Ross Durham, 2515 West C St., Kannapolis, reported a break in at his home and the theft of a .22 caliber rifle and a strong box.
In other reports of incidents or arrests on Sept. 26:
– Thomas Wayne Kimble, 205 Buccaneer Circle, reported the theft of 2007 blue black motorcycle valued at $4,000.
– Shakela Ectasy Litaker reported the theft of a white 2004 Nissan Sentra from 1510 Julian Road. The theft occurred between 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 26.
In other reports of incidents or arrests on Sept. 25:
– An East Rowan High School student, Kaliesha- Esther Elizabeth Russell, 16, was charged with resist, delay and obstruct a police officer. According to a report, the student refused to comply with orders from the school resource officer.
