MOORESVILLE ó An Iredell County man died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained in a single vehicle wreck in Rowan County.
The N.C. Highway Patrol identified the victim as Jonathan E. Fultz, 21, of 209 Rustic Road, which is off Patterson Road near the Iredell-Rowan county line.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Fultz was driving a 2007 Jeep south on Shinn Farm Road around 3 a.m. when he crossed the center line, over corrected, went off the road, hit a mailbox then an embankment, and overturned.
Fultz, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
Fultz was transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, where he died.
A passenger in the vehicle, Ashley Louise McCloud , 26, of 146 Addison Place, Troutman, was taken by Rowan County EMS to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
According to the report of Trooper E.B. Perdue, McCloud was wearing a seat belt.
The Atwell Fire Department assisted at the scene. Weather conditions prevented a medical helicopter from flying to the scene.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville is handling arrangements for Fultz.
