Former mayor's bond unchanged

Alicia Bean, a former mayor of Spencer, will face a probable cause hearing on Oct. 14 on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer.
Bean, 42, 218 N. Yadkin Ave. made her first appearance in Rowan District Court Wednesday on the charges which resulted from an armed standoff with Spencer Police in May.
Bean remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $25,000 bond.
In case she posts bond, she was ordered to stay away from two Spencer residents.
She was charged Monday after being released from a state mental hospital.
