Fire damages Kannapolis house

KANNAPOLIS ó A family escaped safely from their home after an electrical problem caused an early-morning fire Tuesday.
The Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a call at 312 Elm St. at 1:44 a.m., a department press release said. Firefighters found a working fire when they arrived at the home.
They quickly made entry and extinguished the blaze, the press release said.
A family member in the home had awakened and alerted other occupants. Everyone made it out safely. No injuries were reported.
Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
