Blotter: Tools taken, car vandalized

A Rockwell man took a double hit when nearly $1,500 of tools were stolen from his home and his car was vandalized.
Richard William Lyons, 140 Raintree, Rockwell, reported the theft and vandalism occurred at his residence between 6 p.m. Oct. 17 and 4 p.m. on Oct. 18.
Items taken included a Craftsman tool box, an 18 volt impact gun, a Craftsman 18 volt drill, assorted sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers.
Incidents or arrests from Oct. 18:
Donald James Miner, 35, of 1150 Teakwood Trail, Rockwell, was charged with assault by strangulation, a felony.
Incidents or arrests from Oct. 17:
Jerry Wayne Shue, 15245 Old Beatty Ford Road, Gold Hill, reported the theft of a homemade utility trailer and two wooden porch swings.
The theft occurred between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Susan Hicks, reported the theft of her vehicle from the side of Interstate 85 near Peeler Road. The vehicle was taken between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 3 p.m. on Oct. 18.
Incidents or arrests from Oct. 16:
A student at East Rowan High School disrupted teaching by shouting sexual remarks in class and the hallway.
A juvenile petition was drawn on a 15-year-old student.
Rhonda Dawn Burgess, 4535 Long Ferry Road, reported the theft of a firearm, a chrome 38-caliber Cobra Derringer from her residence.
Robin Otto Worth, 26, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
Vicki Lynn Honeycutt, was charged with being a fugitive from justice.
Incidents or arrests from Oct. 15:
Steven Bernard Wickersham of Standish Lane, Mooresville, reported a break-in at Sandhills Court, Mooresville, and theft of a WGA video projector valued at $2,025.
The theft occurred between Oct. 4 and Oct. 15.
Incidents or arrests from Oct. 14:
Barry Alvin Mitchem, 780 Rainey Road, reported the theft of his vehicle, a white 1997 Ford F150 pickup.
The vehicle was taken between Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. and Oct. 14 at 6 a.m.
