nGame notes: Comparative scores don’t necessarily mean a thing, but if you look at who beat whom and by how much they beat them, you realize North Rowan probably can win this one 77-0.
Playing at home, North Moore lost by 23 to South Davidson. Playing at home, South Davidson lost by 15 to East Montgomery. Last week, North Rowan fumbled eight times (losing four) and still won by 28 at East Montgomery. The Cavs stuffed East Montgomery for minus-55 yards rushing, which is probably some sort of world record. Dominique Meade had a good night on the defensive line, and Kornell Cook picked off a pass. Now North Moore comes to Spencer. To put it nicely, you have to like the Cavs’ chances of finishing tonight with a three-game winning streak. It would be their first since 2006, when they beat three Davidsons ó East, Central and West ó in a row.North Moore has scored every time it’s taken the field, but it has allowed a frightening 247 points in six games. That’s not good news with North Rowan starting to click on offense a bit. The Cavs, who didn’t score in their first three outings, piled up 377 yards rushing last week, with Cameron Mallett, Vince Shropshire and Malik Jones doing damage.
The Cavs need to keep getting better. It gets serious again next week against Albemarle.
