College football: Appalachian State’s Edwards returns to practice

BOONE ó Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards returned to practice on Monday afternoon for the first time since injuring his right foot in a lawn-mowing accident 27 days ago.
After running under the supervision of Appalachian’s athletic training staff earlier in the day, Edwards participated in most drills during ASU’s 90-minute practice. He resumed throwing last Monday. and joined his teammates briefly for seven-on-seven drills last Thursday.
ASU has officially listed Edwards as questionable for Saturday’s opener at ECU.
n Richie Williams has been hired and will support ASU’s offensive coaches in a non-coaching, quality-control capacity.
