Major League Notebook: Parnell pitches for Mets

East Rowan graduate Bobby Parnell was the last of four New York Met hurlers in a 4-2 loss against Milwaukee at Citi Field on Sunday.
Parnell entered the game with one out in the eight inning and retired J.J. Hardy on a popout and struck out Mike Cameron looking.
Parnell allowed a run in the ninth on an infield hit, a sacrifice bunt and Rickie Weeks’ two-out single.
Parnell’s ERA is 2.57 after six outings.

CHICAGO (AP) รณ The Chicago White Sox are heading to the White House.
A group of about 35 including players, team officials and family members, will tour the White House on Monday. But it isn’t certain if they’ll get to meet President Barack Obama.
Obama often dons a well-worn White Sox cap and the team has embraced Obama as “First Fan.”
The White Sox (7-5) face the Orioles at Camden Yards on Tuesday night.
